Choosing the right keywords

It sounds simple enough, but you would be surprised how many business get it wrong, and still have it wrong.

Making the right choices when it comes to keywords is the most vital part of SEO.  Target the wrong keywords and not only are you barking up the wrong tree, you are more than likely targetting no-one because no-one is searching for those keywords.

You need to choose the keywords your “customers” use to search for your business, product or service.

When you choose a keyword you need to think about these two things:

  • What words are customers using to find businesses like mine?
  • When someone types in the keyword, does it have commercial intent? 

The answers to these questions can only be uncovered with thorough keyword research.
